This route demonstrates how easy it is to walk, using green spaces, from the centre of Woodside. The adjacent Rough Park was declared as a Local Nature Reserve (LNR) in 2023, it contains 42.3 hectares of varied green space including horse grazed paddocks, woodland plantations and the vast expanse of Castle Green meadow, one of the borough’s best wildflower meadows. The route also includes the Beeches LNR which contains a wonderful view point and is home to some of the borough’s most important amphibian, dragonfly and damselfly populations.
