T50 Relay - New Fastest Times

Congratulations to Wrekin Road Runners who have set a new time for the relay, running last Saturday (October 24th ) they had a open team and ran in 8 hours 6 minutes and 18 secs. This is faster than the fastest known solo run and so is the fastest known completion time. Congratulations too to Shropshire Canicross who ran as a mixed team on October 11th in 9 hours 20 minutes and 6 seconds taking almost 40 minutes off their previous time.

The Relay Challenge  2020

We will now be running the challenge just once in 2020

  • Clockwise in July to October

New for this year- an open class (minimum 4 runners) , the original is now called the mixed class and needs a minimum of 3 females and 3 runners aged 50+ (so a minimum of 6 runners).   See the relay challenge page

Circular Walks

Spurred on by the Covid 19  restrictions we have made progress on circular walks based on the trail, there is still more work to be done but you can see our progress here.

New File store for the GPX files and new mapping

Spurred on by developing the circular walks we have made a file share available so that all the GPX files are in one place and there is no need to visit the OS site to download them.

Also we are trying RunGo to give turn by turn directions for the circular walks. These can, and will be, customised. So far it seems to be very good, it has a facility to reverse the route, would have saved hours of work last year.

Jim Cox

We are very sorry to announce that Jim Cox, one of the original group, died on Saturday March 7th after collapsing while acting as a marshall at an LDWA event the previous Saturday.  Jim was one of the team of 2 that surveyed, waymarked and described sections 6 and 7 of the route. His quiet contribution will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with his family

Water on the trail

We were told that there would definitely be a water fountain near Telford Town Centre visitor centre by Easter. This is now on hold. There is a list of refill stations on or very near to the trail here
