January 2026. Rotunda Steps
As the steps are likely to be closed for some time, we suggest this diversion. Instead of the blue line which is our route, follow the purple line. Turn left instead of right when you hit the path around the bottom of the hill. Continue on until you reach an enormous finger post. Turn right here up a diagonal path until you reach a junction. Here either turn right and continue to the rotunda where you do an about turn , and you are back on the usual route (this add 0.2 miles to your route) or, turn left on the original route (taking 0.3 miles off the distance) . December 2025 Woodside, ongoing
This is the field between Orchard Lane and Beech Road (just after the Beeches local nature reserve,). The path by the field boundary is difficult to follow at present. The remedy is to venture further into the field. There may also be horses in the field.
March 2026: Storm Goretti update
We now think that the problems this storm caused have either been cleared or are passable with care,
