This walk is on firm surfaced paths throughout. The award winning Telford Town Park was voted best in UK 2015 and has something for everyone: formal landscaped gardens, sensory gardens, adventure playgrounds, (carefully graded to challenge and enthral kids from toddlers to teens) and a water play park. It’s also a huge nature reserve with beautiful pools, wildflower meadows, heathland and woodland areas, giving life to a large variety of birds, animals, butterflies and other insects.The park is also an outdoor museum preserving historic ruins from a Norman chapel to Shropshire’s biggest chimney and displays many commemorative art works, from bronzes and sculptures by major national figures to work done by local children. It’s the best free place in Telford and our walk takes you past many of its highlights.
